Job Description
Parkview Children's Centre is seeking an Administrative & Bookkeeping Assistant to support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of our multi-site, not-for-profit childcare organization.
Working closely with the Senior Accounting Lead and the Enrollment & Administrative Coordinator, this role provides accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative support across the organization.
This is a full-time, temporary contract position covering a maternity leave from August 20th 2026 to September 30th 2027.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Bookkeeping
- Process accounts payable, invoices, expense reports, and payment batches.
- Prepare and issue invoices, process billing updates, deposit fees, and tuition plans.
- Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Support payroll processing and prepare Records of Employment (ROEs).
- Maintain employee records in Dayforce and administer employee benefits, enrollments, and lifecycle changes.
- Prepare and post routine journal entries.
- Assist with month-end close procedures, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Investigate and resolve routine accounting discrepancies.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and working papers as required.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and accounting records in accordance with organizational procedures.
Enrollment & Administration
- Manage waitlists and process new registrations through Lillio.
- Prepare enrollment documentation and maintain child records.
- Respond to family inquiries and support the registration process.
- Assist with occupancy and enrollment reporting.
General Administration
- Maintain organized digital and physical records in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries through shared accounts payable and registration inboxes, as well as role-specific correspondence.
- Provide administrative support to the finance and enrollment teams, including document preparation, filing, and correspondence.
- Assist with administrative projects, process improvements, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in place of formal education.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO), or the ability to confidently navigate and record transactions within the software.
- Experience with Dayforce and payroll administration is considered an asset.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial, employee, and client information with discretion.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Experience working in a not-for-profit organization and/or the licensed child care sector is considered an asset.

Pay: $20.35-$24.50 per hour
