Nelson Police Department is currently accepting applications for part-time experienced constables to join our professional and community-focused team. Who We're Looking For
We are seeking experienced, motivated, and community-minded police officers who are ready to make a difference while enjoying the flexibility of part-time work.
About the Role
Temporary Part-Time Sworn Constables may be engaged to:
- Cover sworn officer absences (e.g., long-term illness, injury, vacation, or vacancies)
- Support special assignments or projects, as agreed upon by the Police Board and the Association
Appointments will be made on an as-needed basis, with the length of each engagement determined by the Nelson Police Board.
You may be eligible as a part-time, experienced candidate if you:
- Are currently a serving member of a Canadian police service (or have recently served), and
- Have completed a minimum of two years of service following graduation from a recognized police training program
- Are, or are eligible to be, qualified as a municipal constable under the BC Police Act
Compensation: A salary of $122,897 annually or $58.86 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
