Job Description
SpiderSmart Learning Center (Waterloo) is seeking enthusiastic and qualified educators to join our team as Part-Time / Full-Time Summer Tutors for a 6-week program (July 13 to August 21, 2026).
In this role, you will work with students in small-group settings using our ready-to-use SpiderSmart curriculum, with opportunities to contribute to the development and expansion of our online Reading Program.
We are looking for teachers who can deliver engaging and effective Reading & Writing instruction to students from Grade 3 to Grade 8 in a supportive learning environment.
What We Offer

- Full-time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
- Part-time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday)

Responsibilities
- Teach small-group sessions (up to 8 students) following the SpiderSmart curriculum and methodologies
- Lead afternoon sessions for small groups (up to 5 students per class)
- Provide individualized feedback and guidance to support student improvement
- Track student progress and communicate results effectively
- Foster a positive, focused, and encouraging learning environment
Qualifications (Required)
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), or accepted into an OCT program (starting September 2026 or earlier)
- Minimum of a three-year postsecondary degree
- At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
- Experience working with children in classroom or tutoring settings
- Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning styles and academic levels
- Passion for education and student development
