Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Refrigeration and HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration systems and related equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems effectively. The Refrigeration Technician will work closely with other tradespeople and must be comfortable working in various environments.
Duties
- Install and maintain refrigeration systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and comply with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration units, including diagnosing issues with compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other components.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with plumbing and electrical teams to integrate refrigeration systems into existing infrastructure.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and identify potential issues.
- Conduct repairs on appliances as needed, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used for inventory management.
Skills
- Proficient in piping techniques related to refrigeration systems.
- Experience in brazing for system installations or repairs.
- Knowledge of boiler operations as they relate to refrigeration processes is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems effectively.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, including installation and maintenance practices.
- Previous mechanic experience is highly desirable for understanding system functionalities.
- Ability to perform appliance repair tasks as required by the job scope.
- Experience in construction practices that relate to the installation of refrigeration systems is beneficial.
- Competence in reading and interpreting schematics for efficient troubleshooting and repairs. Pay: $47.00-$52.00 per hour
