Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Service Staff to join our French-inspired coffee shop and bakery. This role involves providing exceptional service, preparing delicious food and beverages, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Ideal candidates will have experience in food service, strong time management skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality customer experiences. Wed , Thurs, Friday’s ( summer hours 12 to 5 ) and some Saturdays ( all day shifts ) ideal candidat should have experience and be able to work throughout summer and into fall therefore not for students as we need someone for throughout the year
Responsibilities
- Take customer orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, baked goods, and light food items in accordance with quality standards
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area, including food prep stations and seating areas
- Ensure food safety and proper handling of all food items according to health regulations
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service to enhance guest satisfaction
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic baking or assembling menu items
- Manage multiple tasks effectively during busy periods through excellent time management skills
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly as a barista or in serving roles, is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations quickly
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience with food preparation or bakery operations is desirable but not mandatory
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
