Position Overview
The Aluminum and Stainless Steel Welder/Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, fitting, and welding of structural, architectural, and miscellaneous metal products using aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel materials. Working from fabrication drawings and shop specifications, this position requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce quality work in a fast-paced fabrication environment. The successful candidate must be adaptable, safety-focused, and willing to support both shop and field operations as required.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel materials.
- Fabricate, fit, assemble, and weld components in accordance with fabrication drawings, shop specifications, and quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, shop sketches, and work orders.
- Set up and operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot welding equipment and report maintenance requirements as needed.
- Utilize jigs, fixtures, and fabrication tools to ensure accurate assembly and repeatable quality.
- Measure, cut, grind, prepare, and finish materials to meet project specifications.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies to ensure they meet company quality standards.
- Meet production schedules while maintaining a high level of workmanship and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable industry standards.
- Assist with field installation and welding activities when required.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, project teams, and other trades to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Experience welding aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop documentation.
- Experience using fabrication equipment, jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot welding equipment and identify equipment issues.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to meet production targets and set-up requirements while maintaining quality standards.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and performing repetitive manual tasks.
- Willingness to work both in the fabrication shop and at field project sites as required.
- CWB Certification is considered an asset but is not required.
- Valid driver's license is required.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
