We support a national dealer network by providing advanced technical support, structured warranty management, and strong product expertise, acting as the key technical link between dealers and the manufacturer.
As part of our continued growth in Western Canada, we are seeking a Senior Technical Support Manager – Deutz‑Fahr to serve as the primary technical reference for our dealer network and for the manufacturer.
Position Summary
The Senior Technical Support Manager – Deutz‑Fahr provides advanced diagnostic and technical support for Deutz‑Fahr tractors across BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
This role acts as the main technical liaison between dealer technicians and managers, MRG Canada, and the manufacturer Same Deutz‑Fahr (SDF).
The position works closely with other MRG Canada Service Managers based in Ontario and Quebec to ensure consistent national technical practices, warranty processes, and manufacturer communication.
This role does not include direct people management and is focused on technical leadership rather than team supervision.
This position is NOT for you if:
- You are looking for a shop-based or 100% hands-on technician role
- You come primarily from large industrial plants, oil & gas, or power generation
- You are seeking a director-level or corporate management position
- You are not comfortable providing technical support by phone and remote diagnostics

- Former senior technician or service manager ready to move beyond the shop
- Strong diagnostic background with agricultural tractors or similar mobile equipment
- Comfortable communicating with dealer technicians and service managers
- Able to make technical decisions without physically seeing the machine
- Enjoys being the technical reference rather than managing staff
What this role really looks like day-to-day:
- 70–80% remote technical support (phone, diagnostics, troubleshooting)
- 20–30% travel for dealer support, training, and complex field cases
- Very limited hands-on wrench work
- Strong focus on diagnostic analysis, communication, documentation, and follow‑up
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support to Deutz‑Fahr dealers
- Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues
- Deliver remote technical assistance and occasional on-site field support
- Perform root‑cause analysis and recommend long-term corrective actions
- Manage and validate warranty claims
- Coordinate and support recalls and technical campaigns
- Act as the primary technical contact with Same Deutz‑Fahr (SDF)
- Interpret, distribute, and explain technical service bulletins
- Provide structured technical feedback to the manufacturer
- Train and support dealer technicians
- Support new product launches and technology introduction
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in agricultural or mobile heavy equipment service
(including time as a senior technician, technical specialist, or service support role)
- Experience in an OEM, importer, or dealer technical support environment
- Strong hands-on diagnostic experience with agricultural tractors or similar equipment
- Solid knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electronics
- Ability to use OEM diagnostic tools and follow structured troubleshooting processes
- Strong communication, organizational, and technical decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with a high level of accountability
Language Requirements
- English: required (advanced technical level)
- French: an asset
