Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Program Coordinator to lead and enhance our residential based programs. This role is ideal for someone who brings both leadership and heart to their work — someone who can inspire their team, ensure quality service delivery, and help individuals thrive in safe, supportive environments.
The Program Coordinator oversees daily operations, provides team guidance, and ensures programs align with the standards set by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Sequoia Support Services’ values.
Position Details
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Flexibility: Must be able to adjust hours based on program needs
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Program Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned programs, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care
- Supervise, train, and support staff while fostering a positive and inclusive team environment
- Create and maintain effective staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage
- Manage program budgets, records, and administrative processes
- Ensure all documentation and reporting meet organizational and funder standards
Program Development
- Design and maintain meaningful, individualized support plans that reflect the goals of each person served
- Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and promote inclusion within the community
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support referrals and service continuity
- Ensure programs meet MCFD guidelines, funding agreements, and performance targets
Health, Safety, and Facilities
- Ensure all program sites meet safety, fire, and health regulations
- Promote a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and staff
- Serve as a representative for workplace health and safety initiatives and investigations
Community and On-Call Support
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
- Provide on-call support to staff and ensure appropriate emergency coverage is in place
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in community living, mental health, or social services, including leadership or supervisory roles
- Experience supporting individuals served by MCFD, including those with autism or neurodiverse needs (asset)
- Strong skills in program coordination, staff supervision, and service planning
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centered and trauma-informed practice
Requirements
- Must be able to successfully pass a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check ( HUB Clearance through MCFD)
- Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle (minimum $3,000,000 business liability)
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Negative TB test
- Clear Health Certificate
- Able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs
- Clear and current Driver's Abstract
Compensation
Salary Range: $66,500 – $79,164 annually, based on experience and qualifications
