Looking to futher advance your career? This may be the role for you! We are seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of FM4 Captain on our Saltwater team at Mowi Canada East Inc. This position will be based on our remote farm sites located on the South Coast of Newfoundland.
ABOUT THE JOB
Reporting to the Area Manager, in this role, your main job duties will include, safe and efficient operation of the vessel/barge, safe and efficient management of the vessel/barge and crew, ensure all equipment and property is maintained at the highest level, ensure that all laws, government regulations are adhered to, and ensure all environmental regulations certification criteria are met.
Further to running the vesse/bargel and working with the site team to complete operations, this will be onsite leadership role providing assisting with operational planning and leading implementation. This is a permanent, full-time position with a shift schedule of two weeks on, two weeks off.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The ideal candidate would be safety oriented and willing to work in a team environment with a passion for the industry. They would have:
- Fishing Master Class 4 Certificate is required
- Leadership and project management abilities
- Respect for the need for safe working practices and animal welfare
- Well-developed English verbal and written communication
- Good computer and document management knowledge
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and participate in training opportunities
- Ability to work safely and effectively in challenging outdoor weather
- Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job
- Physical capability to complete repetitive tasks and handle material up to 25kg
- Comfortable working in remote locations, outside, and on the water
- Ability to work a two weeks on, two weeks off rotational schedule and reside in company-provided accommodations for the duration of each shift
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
