Job Purpose
Reporting to the Funding Supervisor, the Funding Analyst is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and finalizing auto loan contracts submitted by dealerships so that all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant prior to the release of funds. The role supports funding operations by validating loan data, setting up new loans in core systems, and ensuring adherence to bank policies, regulatory requirements, and dealership agreements. The Funding Analyst operates within established procedures, exercises judgment on routine and defined funding matters, and escalates discrepancies, missing information, or non-routine issues in accordance with established guidelines.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Funding Review, Verification & Processing
- Review loan packages for accuracy, including customer information, loan terms, signatures, and supporting documentation.
- Enter and verify loan data in the Loan Origination System (LOS) and Loan Management System (LMS).
- Open and set up new loans in the LMS in accordance with established procedures.
- Verify banking details and loan data prior to finalizing loan setup and releasing funds.
- Authorize funding and release funds to dealerships once all requirements are met.
- Register PPSA filings to ensure loans are properly secured.
Compliance, Risk & Issue Resolution
- Maintain compliance with bank policies, lending requirements, regulatory obligations (including AML) and dealership agreements.
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, or errors in loan files and take appropriate action to resolve or escalate issues.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate with internal teams and cross-functional departments to resolve funding issues and support workflow alignment.
- Communicate with dealerships as required to obtain clarification or missing documentation.
- Provide informal guidance or training support to peers as part of onboarding or day-to-day operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Experience, Skills & Competencies
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, banking, or a related financial services role.
Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of AML requirements.
- Knowledge of internal systems, including LOS and LMS.
- Strong data accuracy and documentation review skills.
Competencies:
- Attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing loan documentation, system data, and funding requirements.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills when working with internal teams and dealership partners.
- Teamwork and collaboration to support efficient workflows and timely resolution of funding issues.
- Planning, organizing, and time management skills to manage multiple files and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Customer focus and service orientation to support positive dealer and customer experiences while maintaining compliance.
- Adaptability when responding to changing priorities, system updates, or operational requirements.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and screen time.
- Requires sustained mental concentration, frequent task switching and multi-tasking under deadlines.
- No travel is required.

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of a background check, including criminal record prior to employment.
- Compliance with Santander Consumer Canada’s Code of Conduct, Information Security policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Hours of Work:
Shift: Monday- Friday 9:00am-6:00pm.
1 late night a week 11:00am-8:00pm. 1-2 Saturdays a month.
