Weekdays (Monday to Thursday): 3:00PM to 1:30AM
JOB SUMMARY
The shipper receiver is responsible for the day-to-day logistic operations for Nefab Mississauga location.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping
- Attend the production board meeting daily
- Plan and schedule daily shipments based on the information received at the production meeting. While at this meeting discuss shipments that need to be booked up to 2 days out.
- Monitor current shipping schedule and liaises with production personnel
- Calculate footage and weights for each shipment
- Schedule each shipment with the trucking company provided. This may be by email, telephone or by entering shipping details into an online portal
- Prepare picking lists, delivery notes, and BOL’s
- Verifies that the proper quantity and product is shipped as per the order and each pallet is labelled correctly with a Nefab Label
- Visually reviews all product coming to the warehouse and notifies production of any insufficient packaging
- Log all out going shipments into Prism
- Previous forklift experience required
Receiving
- Receive designated incoming product through finished goods warehouse. If any product coming in looks damaged indicate on BOL before signing
- Put all incoming product in receiving area for inspection if required
- Inspect and log all incoming goods on the respective packing list as per receiving inspection procedure. Call Quality for products needing special inspections
- Inspect incoming materials and, when approved, place them into stock. Pick, stage, and prepare goods for production as required.
- Manage waste streams by emptying garbage and wood hoppers as required
- Clear receiving doors of snow periodically during winter to maintain safe and accessible access
- Notify your manager of any damaged product
- Put goods away to stock once inspected
- Keep warehouse clean and organized
- Other Duties as required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years’ experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, delivery or customer service role
- Previous experience with shipping methods, customs guideline and required forms
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a definite plus
- Forklift experience with a valid forklift certification is required for this position
LANGUAGES
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
- Demonstrated ability to organize and plan deliveries
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify and solve scheduling and space issues within the warehouse
- Demonstrated ability to provide accurate accounting of good and keep detailed records
- Proven ability with MS Office
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret the basic business and legal related documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack and other required machinery
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Environment
- Office working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require local and international travel, overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
- Plant working conditions include noise in excess of 90 lbs, Temperature ranging from -20 to 34 Celsius, and some dust. Personal Protection Equipment is provided.
- During winter months, the job does require the individual to periodically work outdoors
