About Us
Sight N’ Steps is a modern, growing eye care practice in Ajax, Ontario, providing comprehensive optometric services and quality eyewear to our community. We are looking for a motivated and patient-focused Licensed Optician to join our team.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will play an important role in providing exceptional patient care and helping patients find eyewear solutions that meet their visual needs, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional eyewear consultations and frame styling
- Assist patients with frame and lens selection
- Take accurate measurements, including PDs and fitting measurements
- Interpret prescriptions and recommend appropriate lens options
- Dispense, adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear
- Assist with contact lens sales and patient education, where applicable
- Provide excellent customer service and build strong patient relationships
- Communicate effectively with optometrists and other clinic team members
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow clinic procedures including
- Assist with inventory management, frame selection, and product ordering
- Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming optical environment
- Abide by the office’s policies and code of conduct
Qualifications
- Licensed Optician in good standing with the College of Opticians of Ontario
- Previous optical dispensing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frames, coatings, and lens technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient-focused with a professional and friendly approach
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with optical software or electronic medical records is an asset
