About CharCo
CharCo is a wood-fired sandwich trailer serving handcrafted sandwiches, sides, and seasonal features from a fixed location in Penticton.
We focus on scratch-made food, live-fire cooking, and high-quality ingredients, including bread made fresh in-house daily, all delivered in a fast-paced environment during the Okanagan’s busiest months.
In addition to daily service, CharCo also produces private dinners, events, and pop-ups, offering a more refined, fire-driven dining experience. This provides team members with the opportunity to work on both high-volume service and more curated, multi-course menus.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a reliable, motivated cook who takes pride in their work and performs well in a high-volume service environment.
This is a seasonal role with the potential to transition into a year-round position for the right candidate as the business grows.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to company standards
- Assist with daily prep, portioning, and organization
- Operate wood-fired and charcoal cooking equipment safely
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Receive and properly store deliveries
- Keep workstations clean and organized during service
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a food truck/catering environment preferred
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Food Safe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Schedule
- March through November
- 30–40 hours per week
- Daytime, evenings, weekends, and event shifts required
Compensation
$20–$25 per hour + tips, based on experience
