Overview
True North Automotive is an automotive and fleet repair facility who service many of the largest fleets in Alberta. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shop Hand / Yard Maintenance person to support daily operations within our automotive and fleet repair facility. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and experience working in busy environments. The Shop Hand will play a vital part in maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring safety standards are upheld. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on skills in the automotive industry.
Duties
- Perform general labor duties as assigned; cleaning, empty garbage, shoveling, moving vehicles, grass cutting
- Operate forklift safely to move parts and supplies throughout the shop
- Support the setup, maintenance, and cleanup of workstations to ensure smooth workflow
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment at all times during operations
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks or storage areas as needed
- Support team members in various tasks to meet deadlines efficiently
- Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions
Experience
- Familiarity with use of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment is highly desirable
- Warehouse experience, including forklift operation, is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience working in automotive industry will be beneficial
- Strong attention to detail, safety consciousness, and ability to follow instructions accurately are essential for success in this role
**Must have valid drivers license for a minimum of 3 years**
