Superintendent – Civil Construction
Harbour Construction Company Limited is looking for an experienced Superintendent to join our civil construction operations team.
This position is responsible for overseeing multiple active civil construction projects and supporting Foremen in the day-to-day execution of work. We are looking for someone with strong field experience in civil construction, good operational awareness, and the ability to lead people in a respectful, professional, and accountable way.
This role is heavily focused on leadership. The Superintendent plays a major role in setting expectations in the field, supporting Foremen, solving problems, and helping projects stay organized, productive, and safe.
Our work includes roadwork, underground services, excavation, grading, and other civil infrastructure projects. We need someone who understands the pace and challenges of civil construction and is comfortable managing multiple moving parts across different sites.
We need someone who is visible in the field, communicates clearly, and leads by example.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple active civil construction projects and Foremen
- Support daily planning and coordination of labour, equipment, trucking, and materials
- Work closely with Foremen to ensure work is organized, productive, and completed safely
- Monitor site progress, quality, scheduling, and overall field performance
- Identify operational issues early and help teams work through solutions
- Support the training, development, and accountability of Foremen
- Help create consistency across crews, job sites, and field operations
- Coordinate with Project Managers, office staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and trucking
- Review field reporting, timecards, truck slips, and operational information for accuracy
- Maintain a strong presence in the field and support crews as required
What We Need
- Strong experience in civil construction operations
- Previous Superintendent, General Foreman, or senior field leadership experience required
- Strong understanding of earthworks, underground services, grading, roadbuilding, excavation, and heavy equipment operations- Who can easily operate a machine if needed
- Ability to manage multiple crews, projects, and shifting priorities while advance planning where possible
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to hold people accountable while maintaining respectful working relationships
- Commitment to safety, quality work, and professional job site standards
- A leader who helps bring structure, direction, and consistency to field operations
Work Environment
This role involves regular travel between active civil construction job sites within the province and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. The position is primarily field-based with some office coordination as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
