About the Role
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our veterinarians, RVTs, clients, and patients while helping our hospital run smoothly.
Your responsibilities may include:
· Assisting veterinarians and RVTs during appointments and treatments.
· Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats.
· Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas.
· Assisting with laboratory samples and diagnostics.
· Preparing patients for procedures and surgery.
· Monitoring hospitalized patients and ensuring their comfort.
· Supporting reception and client communication.
· Maintaining accurate medical records and supporting hospital administrative processes.
· Stocking supplies and assisting with inventory management.
· Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital.
· Providing compassionate support to clients and their pets.
· Working collaboratively with the entire healthcare team.

· Has successfully completed a Veterinary Assistant (VA) course or program.

· Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital is considered an asset.
· A Hands-On and Emotionally Rewarding Role
This is a hands-on role that requires comfort working around animals of all sizes, including those that may be nervous, fearful, or unwell. The successful candidate must be comfortable standing for extended periods, lifting and restraining pets safely, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Veterinary medicine can be both incredibly rewarding and emotionally challenging. We are looking for someone who can provide compassionate support to clients and patients during both happy and difficult moments.
Bilingualism
Fluency in both English and French is highly preferred.
