Compensation: (expected annual earnings): $70,000 - $120,000 per year. This is a commission role with a base salary of $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 The range reflects historical earnings at this dealership; actual earnings vary based on individual performance and business volumes.
Minimum earnings: In accordance with the Employment Standards Act, commission-paid employees will be paid at least the applicable Ontario minimum wage for all hours worked. Any minimum-wage top-up paid may be reconciled quarterly in accordance with the compensation plan.

Role Summary
We are looking for a driven, relationship-oriented Wholesale Vehicle Sales Representative to join our growing cross-border operation. Based in Ontario, Canada, you will be responsible for selling pre-owned vehicles sourced from Canadian dealerships, auctions, and trade-in channels directly to US-based dealer contacts. You will develop and maintain a portfolio of US dealer relationships, identify new buying opportunities, and work closely with the Associate Director to meet monthly volume and margin targets.
This is a hands-on sales role that combines traditional automotive wholesale skills with the unique dynamics of cross-border trade.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Dealer Relationship Management
- Proactively prospect, develop, and manage a portfolio of US-based franchised and independent dealer accounts.
- Sell Canadian-sourced pre-owned vehicles wholesale to US dealers via phone, email, and in-person visits.
- Build and maintain long-term dealer relationships based on trust, consistent inventory quality, and competitive pricing.
- Understand each dealer’s inventory needs, preferred vehicle segments, and buying patterns to match sourced vehicles efficiently.
- Track and follow up on all unsold opportunities and maintain accurate records in the CRM system.
Vehicle Sourcing and Market Analysis
- Identify and appraise competitively priced pre-owned vehicles from Canadian dealers, auctions, lease returns, and trade-in channels.
- Monitor CAD/USD exchange rates and US wholesale market pricing to identify profitable cross-border arbitrage opportunities.
- Use appraisal and valuation tools to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.
- Track US wholesale and retail market trends, seasonal demand shifts, and segment-level pricing movements.
Reporting and Performance
- Contribute to a monthly team target of units sold cross-border.
- Maintain and update the CRM with deal status, pipeline activity, and dealer contact information.
- Provide weekly sales reports to the Associate Director, including pipeline status, sales rates, and gross profit tracking.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing and sales processes.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in automotive wholesale, used vehicle sales, or dealer-to-dealer trading.
- Strong understanding of used vehicle valuation, wholesale pricing dynamics, and the pre-owned vehicle market.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining B2B dealer relationships.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s licence.
- This position requires regular travel to the United States. The successful candidate must be legally eligible to enter the US for business purposes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and online vehicle valuation tools.
Preferred
- OMVIC registration or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with cross-border vehicle trade
- Familiarity with wholesale auction platforms (e.g., ADESA, Manheim, OVE )
- Familiarity with vehicle valuation tools such as Black Book, AccuTrade, or MMR.
- Existing network of US dealer contacts is a significant asset.
Compensation and Benefits
