Manufacturing Systems Manager (ERP/WMS)
Location: Dunnville, Ontario — In-Person Role (not remote-eligible)
Original Foods Limited is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Manager to take ownership of our ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and WMS, lead evaluation and rollout of new business applications and technology — including AI-enabled tools — and serve as a cross-trained resource able to provide backup coverage across other operational areas.
This is a hands-on, on-site role based at our single-site manufacturing facility. You'll be on the plant floor regularly, working directly with department leads, production, and inventory control — not managing systems from a remote help desk.
The immediate priority is supporting a recent ERP/WMS implementation through its stabilization period — working directly with our implementation partner to close out remaining items, hold them accountable to scope and timeline commitments, and drive internal adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Near-term
- Support resolution of outstanding items following a recent ERP/WMS implementation, working directly with our implementation partner — including pushing back on vendor recommendations, timelines, or scope where warranted
- Identify and address internal process and adoption gaps with department leads
Ongoing
- Serve as the internal expert and first point of contact for our core business systems
- Own configuration, troubleshooting, and integration health across systems
- Lead evaluation, selection, and rollout of new business applications and tools, including training and adoption
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to apply AI and automation capabilities within our business systems and operations (e.g., forecasting, quality inspection, predictive maintenance, reporting), and lead pilots or implementation where justified
- Build and maintain operational reporting for leadership
- Provide training for users on owned systems
- Collaborate with other functional owners (e.g., Inventory Control, Finance) on system configuration that supports their data and process needs
- Cross-train across key operational areas (e.g., supply chain, inventory control, production coordination) to provide backup coverage during vacations, leaves of absence, or peak workload periods
- Provide additional support to other operational areas as needed, drawing on systems and analytical skills to assist with process improvement or problem-solving
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with a mid-market ERP system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar), ideally including experience owning or configuring the system through a post-go-live stabilization — not just using it as an end user
- Experience with owning and configuring WMS
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendor/implementation partner relationships, including holding a partner accountable to scope, timeline, or configuration commitments — comfortable pushing back on vendor recommendations with your own technical judgment
- Experience evaluating or rolling out business applications preferred
- Familiarity with practical AI/automation applications in a manufacturing or ERP context is an asset
- Manufacturing experience is a requirement — we're looking for someone who has worked inside a manufacturing operation (production, planning, inventory, or plant systems), not solely on the implementation/consulting side of ERP or WMS projects. Food/beverage industry experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the versatility to support cross-functional operational needs
- Willingness and ability to learn multiple areas of the business and provide operational backup coverage as needed
- Strong written communication skills
- Comfortable operating with real decision-making authority while knowing when to escalate
