Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with POS systems, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus. The Cashier will play a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations and fostering customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision and security
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Conduct product demos when applicable to inform customers about features and benefits
- Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure merchandise is properly displayed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering product recommendations
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimize wait times
- Follow phone etiquette standards when assisting customers over the phone or via digital communication
- Support merchandising efforts by restocking shelves and organizing displays as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities such as Spanish or other languages are advantageous
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanor
- Knowledge of merchandising, product demos, and upselling techniques is beneficial
- Demonstrated time management skills and professionalism in communication and phone etiquette
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.60-$17.70 per hour
