MedCare Clinics is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Administrative Assistant to oversee and monitor payments related to uninsured and third-party medical claims.
This role is responsible for ensuring that invoices submitted to insurance companies, employers, legal representatives, and other third-party payers are tracked accurately and paid on time. The successful candidate will work closely with claims staff and clinic managers to follow up on outstanding balances and resolve payment discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor all uninsured and third-party medical invoices submitted by clinic staff
- Track payment status and maintain up-to-date accounts receivable records
- Follow up with insurance companies, law firms, employers, and other third-party payers regarding overdue invoices
- Reconcile payments received and investigate any underpayments or discrepancies
- Communicate with clinic managers and providers regarding payment updates
- Ensure accurate documentation of all correspondence and collection efforts
- Assist with improving billing workflows and collection procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 years of experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or insurance claims follow-up
- Strong understanding of uninsured and third-party medical billing
- Experience working in a healthcare or medical clinic environment preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Canadian healthcare billing practices is an asset
- Knowledge and experience using Accuro EMR is preferred
