Clark Exploration is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Core Cutter to assist with geological exploration activities. The Core Cutter is responsible for preparing and cutting drill core samples for analysis. This is an important role in ensuring accurate sampling and data integrity in exploration and resource evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, handle, and organize drill core trays in accordance with company procedures
- Accurately cut core samples using a core saw
- Label and bag cut samples and prep for shipment
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work conditions in the core cutting area
- Assist geologists with moving, photographing, and collecting core samples
- Comply with all site safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Conduct routine maintenance on core saw and report any mechanical issues
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in core cutting is an asset
- Understanding of geological sample handling and contamination control practices
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (22 kg) and work in physically demanding outdoor or remote environments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
Work Conditions:
- Work in remote mine or exploration sites
- Rotational schedule (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off or 21 days on / 12 days off)
- Use of PPE including gloves, eye protection, Class 3 PPE and hearing protection is mandatory
