Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Setter & Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machinery to produce high-precision parts according to detailed specifications.
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Location: Scarborough, ON
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate Amada CNC turret punch, laser, and other production machinery.
- Configure tooling, machine parameters, lenses, and fixtures to optimize performance for different materials and jobs.
- Create, edit, and manage laser cutting files from CAD drawings while maintaining correct revision control.
- Inspect, maintain, and sharpen tooling; monitor machine systems (e.g., chiller and process gases) and report maintenance or supply needs.
- Produce high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications, read work orders, and accurately tag completed products.
- Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean, organized workspace and following all safety, ISO, OHSA, and company standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of sheet metal CNC programming experience; Amada experience preferred.
- CNC Machining Certificate or Diploma is an asset.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and work to precise tolerances.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools, mathematical calculations, and material identification.
- Knowledge of tooling, tool maintenance, G-code programming, AutoCAD, and preferably SolidWorks.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position
