Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to drive our safety initiatives. In this dual-focused role, you will manage our daily Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) programs while working closely with Quality Assurance (QA) to oversee our company systems and processes. Key Responsibilities
Hazard Prevention & Workplace Safety
- Implement and monitor a comprehensive hazard prevention program.
- Conduct routine workplace inspections and hazard assessments across our facilities and hangars.
- Act as an active participant and administrative resource on the Workplace Health and Safety Committee.
- Manage WHMIS compliance, maintain safety data sheets (SDSs), and coordinate First Aid requirements and supplies.
Incident Investigation & Reporting
- Participate in hazardous occurrence and workplace injury investigations.
- Complete and maintain accurate injury records, reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Collaborate with QA on root cause analyses and develop practical, actionable safety recommendations.
Safety Culture & Training
- Foster a positive, open reporting culture built on trust and continuous improvement.
- Create, develop, and deliver engaging safety training sessions.
- Review, update, and ensure ongoing compliance with company health and safety policies and applicable regulatory bodies and standards.
Quality Assurance & Audits
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to assist with internal audits.
- Support QA-led investigations and track corrective/preventive action plans to closure.
Travel Requirements
- Conduct periodic travel to northern Manitoba bases to perform site safety inspections, deliver training, and engage with remote staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of experience in OH&S and/or Aviation safety.
- Working knowledge of Canada OH&S Regulations, Aviation OH&S Regulations, Canadian Aviation Regulations, WHMIS, and First Aid protocols.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting workplace investigations and root cause analysis.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across a growing team.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel within northern Manitoba.
- A proactive mindset with high attention to detail and strong integrity.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
