Part-Time – 28 Hours Per Week(Additional hours may be available depending on programming and events)
The Buxton Historical Society is seeking an enthusiastic and organized individual to join the team at the Buxton National Historic Site & Museum as a Museum Programs & Collections Coordinator.
This position supports museum tours, educational programming, collections care, exhibits, research requests, and daily museum operations while helping preserve and share the history of the Elgin Settlement and Buxton community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct guided tours and educational programming
- Assist with exhibits, collections, and archival records
- Support museum events and community outreach
- Respond to visitor and research inquiries
- Assist with volunteer coordination and daily museum operations
- Help maintain museum spaces, exhibits, and visitor records
- Duties assigned by Curator and Board Chair
Qualifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Post-Secondary education
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Interest in history, museums, education, or heritage work
- Museum or collections experience considered an asset
- Reliable transportation required
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and special events

Pay: $18.06-$20.00 per hour
