Position Overview
Cheralyn's Love of Learning Resource Centre is seeking a part-time tutor to provide individualized instruction to elementary and middle school students. This position is particularly well-suited to homeschooling parents, former teachers, education assistants, and others with experience supporting children’s learning.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions.
- Create individualized lesson plans based on the science of learning.
- Adapt instruction to meet students' individual learning needs.
- Support students with evidence-based structured literacy approaches
- Support students in mathematics, including computation, problem-solving, and foundational math concepts.
- Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence.
- Maintain a positive, patient, and respectful learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with the Resource Centre regarding student progress and concerns.
- Complete basic record-keeping and attendance tracking as required.
- Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled tutoring sessions.
- Work from home or a public library.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
