Working Field Supervisor – On-site
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on working Millwright Supervisor to lead maintenance and mechanical projects in a fast-paced industrial environment. The successful candidate will work alongside the crew, provide technical leadership, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Report to, and work alongside the Field Services Manager to plan and execute on-site work
- Lead and supervise on-site millwright, welding, and machining jobs during shutdowns and projects
- Help coordinate daily work activities, manpower, material, and equipment
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with OHSA, company, and site-specific standards
- Troubleshoot and repair conveyers, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, crushers, rotating equipment, hoists, and industrial machinery
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation
- Communicate effectively with management, operations, contractors, and maintenance personnel
- Mentor apprentices and junior tradespeople
- Maintain high standards for quality, productivity, and housekeeping
- Assist with planning shutdowns and preventative maintenance schedules
- Complete required reports, inspections, and documentation
- Travel Required
Qualifications
- Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright COQ required
- Minimum of 5+ years industrial maintenance experience
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience considered a strong asset
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- All positions CWB or ability to obtain certification required
- Underground common core considered an asset
- Experience in Mining, Pulp and Paper, and Sawmill industries
- Ability to lead by example and work in a physically demanding environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and shutdown schedules as required
