Off-Road Heavy Duty Mechanic

We are currently looking for an experienced Off-Road Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (HET) to work year around in a full-time capacity in our Acheson, AB shop. The successful candidate must be able to align with the company's core values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Foreman with mentorship of off-road technicians and apprentices.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy construction equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, engine, powertrain, and electronic control systems.
- Ensure all work orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct quality inspections on completed repairs before equipment is released.
- Mentor apprentices and provide technical guidance to technicians.
- Promote a positive safety culture by ensuring all company policies and safe work procedures are followed.
- Communicate equipment status and repair progress to the Foreman and Mechanical Superintendent.
- Monitor housekeeping standards and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification (preferred).
- experience repairing heavy off-road construction equipment.
- Previous leadership or Lead Hand experience is considered a strong asset.
- knowledge of Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo, Bomag, Hamm, Wirtgen, and other heavy construction equipment.
- Ability to diagnose hydraulic, electrical, engine, and electronic control systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends during the construction season.

Experience maintaining:
- Asphalt pavers
- Rollers
- Skid steers
- Excavators
- Loaders
- Graders
- Milling machines
- Asphalt plants and crushing equipment (asset)
