Production Supervisor – custom signage
Innovative Signage in Burnaby is an industry leader in manufacturing high quality custom signage for residential, commercial, retail and industrial establishments. For over 30 years, we have been serving a variety of industries with local and national clients in property development, construction, architecture, interior design, commercial development, and retail. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
· Directs, coordinates, and schedules all departmental activities in the Fabrication department and to maximize efficiencies.
· Executes Planning Schedule in Fabrication to deliver on time
· Helps train, supervise and evaluate staff to company standards
· Ensures appropriate cross training is in place for smooth operation of the entire production department
· Helps to ensures the Fabrication department staff is focused, motivated and productive
· Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures
· Helps keeps costs of the Fabrication department within an approved budget (purchase approval obtained when necessary)
· Maintains up to date procedures for the Fabrication department
· Reviews work orders and accompanying materials, ensuring all information is present/obtained from the sales/design department as needed
· Establish priorities of projects in keeping with Due Dates and the goal being to better the production time and have jobs ahead of schedule when possible
· Ensures production sheets and directions are followed during production
· Ensures finished product is packaged and identified for successful handoff to other departments and includes all pertinent information and supporting material ie. templates etc.
The ideal candidate will have:
· Experience with interpreting design and technical drawings
· Strong computer skills with Word, Excel and Outlook
· Knowledge of Access, Power Point, ERP/MRP graphics software and CAD is a definite asset
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
· Exceptional ability to maintain schedules and meet established deadlines
· Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
You will ideally have working experience in an Foreman, lead hand or supervisor role within the Signage/Manufacturing/Fabrication/Construction or Printing industries for a minimum of one year.
