Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles to transport goods from one location to another, following all traffic and safety regulations.
- Loading and unloading cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring that load is properly secured and balanced to prevent damage during transit.
- Planning the most efficient routes based on delivery schedules, traffic conditions, and road closures.
- Conduct routine inspections of the truck and equipment, including checking fluids, brakes, and lights.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries.
Qualifications
- Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License with Clean Abstract (to be provided to Company).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a driver.
- Communication and organizational skills.
- Strict adherence to provincial and local regulations of the transportation industry, including weight limits.
- Required to sit for long hours and may require lifting and carrying heavy items.
