Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing essential support to patient care and medication management. Prior experience in hospital or pharmacy settings is preferred, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by stocking medications and supplies, and monitoring expiration dates
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain accurate records of medication transactions and patient information
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, medical terminology standards, and medication administration procedures
- Support the pharmacy team in maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
Experience/Skill requirements
- Previous hospital or pharmacy experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication dispensing procedures
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Previous customer service experience is preferred
- Prior experience with pharmacy software systems is advantageous
