Job Summary
As a Lugger Truck Driver for K&K Industrial Services, your primary job will be to pick up and drop off loads from various clients within GTA and surrounding area daily. This person will report directly to the Pickering Yard Dispatcher and must be able to work under minimum supervision. This position entails working Mondays to Fridays with a lot of overtime opportunities; overtime hours paid time and half
This position is not limited to the above duties. Additional duties not described may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of bins/loads to and from client sites in the GTA and surrounding areas.
- Ensure the load is safely secured.
- Perform pre and post-trip inspections on trucks, maintaining the cleanliness of the assigned truck.
- Ensures the vehicle maintenance and repair are current and the driver logbook is up to date.
- Follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensure compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
An ideal candidate for K&K Industrial Services is:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Commercial Vehicle Driver, preferably driving a Lugger Truck.
- Valid DZ license (AZ preferred).
- Must have trailer and manual truck driving (preferably 18-speed) experience
- Must have clean Drivers Abstract
- Willing to work extended and flexible hours; flexibility to work afternoons/evenings/weekends (scheduled and on-call).
- Capable of doing physical labour
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using a cell phone, dash cam, CB radio and GPS devices to communicate with Dispatcher
- Must have a safety and compliance mindset
- Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment and execute multiple calls per day.
- Willingness to act as a team player and assist co-workers when needed.
