Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant for a vacation replacement from July 6 to July 15 in the Carling Ave. area. The ideal candidate will assist licensed physiotherapists in delivering treatment plans, managing patient needs, and ensuring a smooth clinical operation. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a long term setting. The Physiotherapy Assistant will play a vital role in helping patients recover mobility and improve their overall well-being through compassionate support and clinical assistance.
Duties
· Assist physiotherapists with patient assessments and treatment sessions
· Prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions
· Support patients during exercises and therapeutic activities under supervision
· Monitor and document patient progress and responses to treatment
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and treatment spaces
· Provide basic patient care, including positioning, transfers, and mobility assistance
· Communicate effectively with patients to ensure comfort and understanding of procedures
· Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures
Qualifications
· Previous long term care experience preferred, especially within seniors
· Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy and patient care
· Experience with patient care activities, demonstrating compassion and professionalism
· Knowledge of safety protocols and infection control practices
· Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members
· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
· Certification or training related to healthcare assistance is a plus but not mandatory
