TNT Foods International Inc. is a highly specialized poultry processor serving both fresh and frozen markets. In business since 1990, TNT Foods produces a wide variety of products for food service and retail customers.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor’s objective is to ensure the safety and storage of each product coming into the facility and leaving the facility. Lead and manage all warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance while supporting production requirements and maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate the Warehouse and Logistics team to achieve departmental goals.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-first culture built on teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Plan staffing levels, schedules, and departmental coverage, including weekends and overtime as required.
- Provide training, performance feedback, and coaching to ensure employees meet company expectations.
Operations Management
- Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory, storage, and material handling.
- Ensure uninterrupted warehouse operations to support production and customer requirements.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries, outbound shipments, and transportation activities.
- Ensure the Operations team has the required materials to meet production schedules while following FIFO and inventory control procedures.
- Develop and implement processes that improve operational efficiency, productivity, and service levels.
Inventory & Logistics Control
- Ensure inventory accuracy through effective inventory control, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
- Oversee frozen inventory management, including lot number assignment and FIFO compliance.
- Maintain accurate warehouse records and ensure timely completion of all shipping and receiving documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and work closely with Purchasing and Production to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
Food Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety standards, GMPs, company policies, and customer requirements.
- Maintain compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and all workplace safety regulations.
- Ensure all warehouse activities meet regulatory, quality, and company standards.
- Lead investigations and corrective actions related to inventory discrepancies, quality issues, or safety incidents.
Continuous Improvement & Cost Management
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, increase efficiency, and reduce operating costs.
- Monitor departmental performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
Communication & Collaboration
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure efficient operations.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and external service providers.
- Provide timely and accurate operational reports to senior management.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure all assigned work is completed accurately and on time.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned by senior management.
- Work safely around a variety of food products, including known food allergens.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Overtime or weekend work maybe scheduled to ensure department coverage
- Work may be performed in a slippery, wet and/or cold environment
- Pulling, pushing, twisting, bending, heavy lifting and standing
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:E
- Minimum high school diploma and/or related CPG or food warehousing experience
- Previous supervisor or lead hand experience with a manufacturing company
- Experience operating a forklift (counterbalance) and electric walkie
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the job
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
- Previous experience with warehouse management systems
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office
