Our musical theatre program is growing and we are looking for one more musical theatre instructor/director to join our St. Albert Studio. We've got an amazing year planned with Our Musical Theatre production program doing "Mamma Mia!", "Matilda Jr.", "Seusssical Kids", and "Addams Family". We've got an all-star cast of directors, choreographers and vocal coaches, but we are still casting for one more director/instructor to join our St. Albert team.
Do you have a passion for musical theatre and theatre arts? Do you have a degree or diploma in Musical Theatre? Do you love working with children ages 5-11 (For Seussical Kids) and 10-17 for Addams Family?
Join our award winning studio in inspiring children and youth to develop singing, acting and dancing skills. At the end of each winter season, in the month of April, each class presents a musical showcasing what the students have learned over the year. This is a part time, contract position from Sept-May with classes on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in St. Albert. There will be additional (paid) rehearsals that may be scheduled at the directors convenience. This instructor will be working alongside a team of creative directors/choreographers who will work together to create cohesive performances using multiple casts.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Instruct weekly musical theatre classes for ages 5-17 (singing, acting & dance)
-Direct 2 productions using the outline provided by the Artistic Director
-Maintain effective communication with parents and other instructors
- Be available to rehearse if necessary, including weekends
-Teach choreography and movement to the cast
-Assist in organizing rehearsals and events associated with the musical theatre department
Optional: Teach private lessons
Job requirements
-A post secondary degree or diploma in music, theatre, dance, or musical theatre is required
-Have the ability to inspire young performers with engaging activities
-Build confidence in students of all ability levels.
-Maintain classroom management
-Work well in a team.

Relevant Dates
The regular teaching season is September to the beginning of May, with optional contract teaching available June-August.
This is part time permanent contract position starting in September 2026
