Robin’s Pharmacy & Wellness Centre is a mental health site that is located in one of Vancouver’s most eclectic and culturally diverse neighborhoods. Working at Robin’s Pharmacy requires a community-minded approach to servicing patients, while always upholding a high standard of pharmacy professionalism. Our casual yet professional atmosphere reflects the nature of the patients we serve. We know most of our patients by name and provide a more traditional independent style of community pharmacy to a diverse demographic of patients. Our key focus is on mental health treatment and associated care, though we service patients with all types of healthcare needs.
We are looking for a part-time caring and compassionate Pharmacy Assistant to provide care for patients in the heart of East Vancouver. The successful candidate should be highly motivated to provide care and support for a vulnerable population that allows them to stay in their community.
We are looking for a Pharmacy Assistant with the following qualities:
- Patience, compassion and strong listening skills
- Clear communication and a positive attitude; friendly and courteous demeanour
- Excellent time management capabilities, flexibility and ability to work independently
- Patient-focused, including going above and beyond to make positive contributions to the community in a healthcare setting; excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Preparing prescriptions accurately and efficiently for walk-in patients
- Ordering, receiving, and stocking prescription and front store inventory
- Blister packing medications
- Answering telephones with courtesy and professionalism
- Completing sales transactions for walk-in customers
- Processing prescriptions on Kroll pharmacy software
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized pharmacy dispensary and front store
- Medication deliveries throughout the community as needed (company vehicle will be provided for those not in walking distance)
Education and Experience:
- Pharmacy Assistant Diploma preferred
- Patient triage and management
- REQUIRED - compliance packaging experience – Jones blister packs, Flex Rx packs
- REQUIRED - experience with Kroll software and be able to type and dispense prescriptions
- Physician communication and care team support
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
Schedule & Compensation:
- Saturdays from 9:30am to 5:30pm
- $20.50-$22.00 per hour commensurate with experience
- Location: Robin's Pharmacy, 908 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
