This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $18.85 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

What You'll Do:
- Oversee the daily operations of the seafood department.
- Ensure the department is stocked, clean, organized, and ready to serve customers.
- Assist with receiving, preparing, packaging, and merchandising seafood products.
- Train, coach, and supervise seafood department staff.
- Create employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing coverage for all shifts.
- Manage inventory levels and order products to meet customer demand while minimizing shrink.
- Monitor product quality and freshness, removing any items that do not meet company standards.
- Ensure proper product rotation, storage, and temperature control procedures are followed.
- Create visually appealing seafood displays and execute promotional programs and seasonal features.
- Ensure all products are accurately priced, labeled, and signed.
- Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with product selection, preparation, and cooking recommendations.
- Resolve customer concerns and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Manage department expenses and work toward achieving sales, profitability, and shrink targets.
- Monitor sales performance and adjust ordering and merchandising plans accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular department inspections and address any operational or safety concerns.
- Coordinate with other departments to support overall store operations.
- Communicate department performance, opportunities, and concerns to store management.
- Participate in store meetings and contribute to overall store success.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Minimum 1 years' seafood, fresh food, or retail supervisory experience, including product knowledge, merchandising, ordering, inventory control, and shrink management.
- Superior customer service, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of seafood products, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Capable of standing for a prolonged period; bending, twisting, turning, and reaching; and lifting up to 50lbs.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
