Position Summary
The Blaster is responsible for masking and blasting materials using various grit materials on steel materials. The Blaster is responsible for surface preparation of materials by abrasive blasting to remove rust, scale, paint and other contaminants. The Blaster ensures surfaces meet’s required specifications for coating, painting while following safety standards. Will consider similar shop floor environment.
Duties:
- Blast materials in a blast booth or outside area to prepare material for coating and creating a profile.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the quality standards and work procedures detailed in the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Systems Manual.
- Use airless equipment properly and safely.
- Log related details for the job.
- Complete final inspection reports.
- Clean and maintain equipment and make minor repairs and adjustments.
- Load and unload customer materials as needed.
- Use the required safety equipment and follow safe work procedures. Maintain a very high standard of housekeeping.
- Must be able to work at heights and confined spaces.
- Comfortable wearing a blast suit and Helmet.
- Uniform is required in this role.
- Attention to detail is Key with understanding process sheets and following Instructions clearly.
- Use overhead cranes and forklifts safely for material handling; use proper chains, slings, and lifting devices as required for each job (as applicable).
- Support in Material Handling needs and help in other departments when required.
- Comply with all AMT Health & Safety program.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Experience in similar blasting and surface preparation
- Ability to operate tow motor and rigging experience
- Blast and Paint experience is highly desirable
Skills:
- Great attitude and ability to work within a team
- Experience in a manufacturing or job-shop environment
- Ability to work in dusty and noisy environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline and quality driven setting
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$26.00 per hour
