Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster developmental growth. This role involves planning engaging activities, supporting children's social and emotional development, and collaborating with families and staff to ensure a positive educational experience for every child.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining detailed records of developmental milestones.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behaviors, and needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities, share best practices, and ensure consistency in teaching approaches.
- Manage classroom routines, including transitions, meal times, and rest periods efficiently.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and supplies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills such as French are a plus.
- Strong background in childcare, early childhood education, or related fields.
- Experience working with children, including those with special needs or disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Computer literacy including basic computer operation for record keeping and communication purposes.
- Classroom experience demonstrating effective management of young learners.
- Strong organizational skills to plan lessons and manage classroom resources efficiently.
- Time management skills to balance lesson planning with daily classroom activities.
- Leadership qualities to guide children’s development positively and support team collaboration.
