Position: General Laborer – Pallet Building Plant
Location: Airdrie, AB
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.00–$21.00 per hour
Expected Hours: Minimum 35-40 per week Overview:
Reporting to the Plant Foreman, the General Labourer will be responsible for assisting in the daily production and assembly of wooden pallets and related materials. This position requires attention to detail, physical endurance, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced production team.Responsibilities:
- Assemble, repair, and inspect wooden pallets according to company standards.
- Operate hand tools, nail guns, saws, and other production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload lumber, pallets, and other materials as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with general plant duties such as material handling, stacking, and inventory organization.
- Report any equipment issues, material shortages, or safety hazards to the Foreman promptly.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in general labour, carpentry, or pallet manufacturing is an asset but not required (training provided).
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly.
- Comfortable working in a production or warehouse environment.
- Strong work ethic and reliability — punctuality and consistency are essential.
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and with a team.
- Basic mechanical or tool-handling skills are an advantage.
- Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods.
