As a part-time Pharmacist, the candidate is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner.
- Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Provides direct patient care by performing medication reviews, therapeutic assessments, disease management consultations, and injection services.
- Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
- Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing work flow; verifying preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counseling patients on drug therapies.
- Develops pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs; training pharmacy staff, students, interns, and health care professionals.
- Complies with provincial and federal drug laws as regulated by the College; maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory; supervising the work results of support personnel; maintaining current registration; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising management on needed actions.
- Protects patients and technicians by adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications for above positions:
- Professional and motivated to work.
- Ontario Licensed as a RPh in good standing.
- Must be injection certified.
- Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation.
- Great customer service and communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where high attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
- Previous pharmacy experience in NHPs is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Knowledge of Kroll is highly recommended.
- Oxford County residents preferred.
