Our client is a well-established freight forwarding and logistics company seeking a driven Business Development Manager to support growth across the Greater Toronto Area. This role is ideal for a sales professional with experience in freight forwarding who enjoys developing new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and generating revenue through strategic sales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and secure new clients requiring international freight forwarding and logistics services
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets
- Build strong relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, and other logistics customers
- Present customized transportation and supply chain solutions
- Conduct sales meetings, client presentations, and networking activities
- Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and manage the sales cycle from prospecting to closing
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and client satisfaction
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments
- Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline updates
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of business development or outside sales experience within freight forwarding Ocean and Air
- Proven track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets
- Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding services (ocean, air, import, export, customs, logistics)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and highly organized
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the GTA as required
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Existing network of customers within transportation and logistics
