Currently, we are hiring for the following position:
Full-time Travelling Registered Early Childhood Educator
We are seeking a full-time Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team as a Travelling Educator providing coverage for vacationing staff, leave of absence, and any program requiring an educator. Hours and locations may vary from day to day based on operational needs; however, this is a full-time position offering a consistent schedule of 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).
- Start Date: August 24, 2026
- End Date: September 20, 2027
- Home Centre: Hewitt's Creek Child Care Centre - Barrie, ON
- Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
- Salary Range: $27.35-30.75 per hour (based on experience) plus applicable fundings (up to $4.00/hour)
Successful candidate MUST:
- Have a Valid Ontario Driver’s License and a reliable personal vehicle
- Be available daily between 7am to 6pm daily (working 8 hours per day)
- Be flexible and able to change daily plan and location
- Be able to travel to all YPCE sites throughout the Region that they are hired for (Barrie and surrounding arers)
- Be self-motivated and adaptable to the different routines unique to each Centre

Responsibilities and Duties
- To plan and implement an age appropriate program indoors and outdoors meeting the requirements of “How Does Learning Happen?” and the 4 foundations
- To create a professional and positive image for the Agency on a daily basis
- To have a working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and be in compliance with the Policies and Procedures of the Agency
- To work as a member of a team which includes other staff, parents, community and the Agency
- To share in the care and housekeeping tasks of the Centre
- To grow and improve in the knowledge and skills required for the job
- To create an inclusive environment where each child and family is valued

Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- Registered and in good standing with the College of ECEs
- Experience working with children of all age groups
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Check
- A valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Up to date immunizations
- Familiar with "How Does Learning Happen?" would be an asset
- Strong programming and communications skills
- Strong knowledge of child development
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable interacting with and supporting families and community members
- Ability to actively participate in the outdoor program in inclement weather
- Physically able to lift and/or assist with the moving of a child, the moving of supplies or equipment
