Podiatric Medical Assistant (Administrative & Clinical)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Podiatric Medical Assistant to support both the administrative and clinical operations of our clinic. This position offers a diverse work environment where the successful candidate will assist with patient care, clinic administration, and day-to-day operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Assist the podiatrist with patient care procedures and treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and supplies for clinical appointments.
- Assist with foot care treatments as directed by the podiatrist.
- Take foot measurements and plaster casts for custom orthotics.
- Assist with orthotic fittings and patient education.
- Measure patients for medical compression stockings.
- Maintain infection prevention and control procedures, including cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Ensure treatment areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Administrative Support
- Welcome patients and provide professional front-desk assistance.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient bookings.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Process payments and maintain accurate financial records.
- Submit and manage insurance claims through third-party billing systems.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records.
- Order and monitor clinical and office supply inventory.
- Perform general administrative duties to support clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Office Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Health Care Aide, Unit Clerk, or related healthcare program is preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical clinic, healthcare setting, or customer service environment is considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Accuro EMR or other electronic medical record systems is considered an asset.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Minimum 2 years experience in Podiatry Clinic
