Temporary – Summer Student – Full-time (May-September 16 weeks)
Hours: 35 weekly
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position involves assisting the Occupational and Physical therapist in carrying out the resident treatments, appliance management, care, cleaning & maintenance of equipment, and clerical duties when required.
Responsibilities include:
- Performs treatments under the supervision of an Occupational and Physical Therapist
- Practices confidentiality with regards to resident care and treatment
- Responsible for documentation on resident records
- Follows safe work practices in accordance with Care Centre’s Occupational Health & Safety Policies
- Be knowledgeable and adheres to facility’s policies & procedures, fire & disaster program
- A member of inter-disciplinary team as necessary
Qualifications:
- Supportive of the Sherwood Care’s health care philosophy and objectives
- Physical and mental fitness to perform duties and responsibilities
- Enrolled or planning to enrol in post secondary
- Experience with Seniors an asset.
