Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Coating Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying coatings to various components, ensuring high-quality finishes, and supporting the overall production process. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and proficiency with various tools and equipment. The Coating Technician plays a vital part in maintaining product standards and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.
Duties
Perform concrete grinding and surface preparation - Prepare plywood decks for waterproof coating systems - Install epoxy, polyaspartic, and other specialty coating systems - Install FlexGuard waterproof deck coating systems - Repair cracks, joints, and damaged concrete - Mix and apply coating materials according to manufacturer specifications - Mask, protect, and prepare surrounding areas before installation - Load, unload, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials - Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe - Operate grinders, vacuums, and other power tools - Work efficiently as part of a team while maintaining high-quality workmanship - Communicate professionally with customers on job sites - Follow all company safety procedures and standards - Travel to job sites throughout the Shuswap and Okanagan as required - Complete other duties assigned by the Lead Coatings Technician or Operations Manager
Requirements
Valid Class 5 driver's licence with reliable transportation - Fluent in English (spoken and written) - Strong work ethic with a positive, team-first attitude - Reliable, punctual, and professional - Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day - Comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions - Ability to use or learn grinders, power tools, and specialty coating equipment - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship - Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required - Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Shuswap and Okanagan - Must be able to meet at our Salmon Arm shop to ride in the crew truck or meet directly at the job site if living closer - Previous experience in construction, concrete coatings, flooring, painting, waterproofing, or a related trade is an asset, but not required—we will train the right candidate.
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
