Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant to join our team in our pastry department. This role is essential in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, and assisting with various tasks related to food preparation and handling. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and baking, with skills in cake decorating and an understanding of food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Handle food products safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Support the kitchen team in various tasks, including cooking, baking, and assembling dishes.
- Creating Viennoiserie Products for Sale
- Participate in cake decorating and presentation for special events or orders.
- Package finished products for delivery or display, maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.
- Creating New products and menu items.
- Creating new presentation techniques for plated desserts
Qualifications
- Two Years Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is required
- Baking Certificate from RRC Polytech, or Similar College, or Similar on job Training
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling best practices.
- Skills in cake decorating are a plus, showcasing creativity and attention to detail.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
