Summary:
Reporting to the Foreman, the Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment on in aggregate pits and on construction sites.
Job Duties Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment safely and as per safe work procedures
- Perform inspections, complete equipment maintenance tasks, and check equipment daily
- Keep equipment and vehicles clean and in safe/working order
- Load and unload equipment in a safe manner
- Report any accidents, damage, or defects immediately and work in a safe manner
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ experience in Loader and/or Excavator operating is required
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to get to different work site locations
- Willing to work in different locations throughout the province and out of town/province
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position; standing, sitting, lifting, etc. for long periods of time
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Safety-first attitude
- Provide: must have a hard hat, high visibility vest, CSA approved steel-toed safety boots/shoes
Schedule:
Schedule is generally Monday to Friday, 10-12 hours per day, and may involve some out-of-town work up to a 22-day on/7-day off schedule.
