Avalon Ford - Fix Auto has an immediate opening for a Body Shop Estimator. The Estimator plays a key role in driving sales growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction by providing accurate vehicle repair estimates and exceptional client service. This position is responsible for identifying value-added sales opportunities, maximizing gross profit margins, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, insurance partners, and internal teams. The Estimator works closely with production staff to ensure efficient repair processes and communicates accurate information regarding repair costs, vehicle damage, and expected completion timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review damage assessments, repair orders, and repair cost estimates to determine required work.
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates in accordance with company standards and insurance industry guidelines.
- Identify and recommend additional repair and service opportunities that provide value to customers.
- Develop estimates with a focus on maximizing gross profit and overall business performance.
- Conduct timely estimate follow-ups to improve conversion and closing rates.
- Partner with client experience personnel to deliver exceptional customer service and communication.
- Monitor vehicle progress throughout the repair process to ensure timely completion and delivery.
- Assist in closing repair orders and tracking job performance to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, insurance representatives, and dealership partners throughout the repair process.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or post-secondary education in Automotive Body Repair or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in collision repair estimating and sales.
- Proficiency with industry estimating platforms, including Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE), Audatex, and Mitchell Repair Center.
- Valid driver's license.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proven record of achieving results.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- Professional, diplomatic, and customer-focused approach when interacting with clients and colleagues.
