A Front of House (FOH) Assistant Manager supports daily restaurant or venue operations by leading service staff, ensuring high-level guest satisfaction, and managing front-of-house logistics. Key responsibilities include training, scheduling, and supervising staff, resolving customer complaints, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee opening, mid shift, and closing procedures, manage floor service flow, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Guest Service: Act as a point of escalation for customer complaints, providing swift, professional solutions to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Staff Management: Assist in recruiting, training, onboarding, and mentoring new team members. Create staff schedules and monitor performance.
- Financial & Administrative Support: Assist with inventory control, cash handling, and potentially payroll administration.
- Communication: Act as the bridge between the kitchen and service staff, communicating reservations, large parties, and customer feedback effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in hospitality, with previous supervisory or lead roles strongly preferred.
- Leadership: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and mentor team members.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for guest interaction and staff coaching.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with POS systems and reservation software.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to remain calm and handle high-stress, fast-paced situations.
- Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Smart Serve/Responsible Beverage Service Certification
Pay: $17.25-$19.00 per hour
