Position Overview
Sirius is seeking an experienced Lead Hand to join our Manufacturing team in Edmonton. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Lead Hand provides hands-on leadership on the shop floor, coordinating daily production activities, mentoring team members, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Sirius quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated tradesperson ready to take the next step into a leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and coordinate daily activities of the manufacturing team, assigning tasks and monitoring workflow to meet production schedules
· Act as the on-floor point of contact between production staff and the Manufacturing Supervisor
· Train, mentor, and support production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
· Monitor work quality throughout the build process, ensuring products meet Sirius specifications and standards
· Zero-incident safety culture; identify and correct unsafe conditions or practices immediately
· Assist with scheduling, material flow, and inventory coordination to minimize production delays
· Maintain accurate production records, timesheets, and quality documentation
· Support root-cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor
· Perform hands-on assembly, fabrication, or wiring work alongside the team as required
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all occupational health and safety requirements at all times
What You Bring
· 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production environment
· Experience in a lead hand, team lead, or supervisory capacity is an asset
· Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude; experience with panel assembly, wiring, or fabrication is an asset
· Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, with knowledge of relevant OH&S standards
· Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate a team
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or work orders
· Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment under production deadlines
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade ticket considered an asset
